1999 – 2005 FREELANCE ACTIVITIES

Consultant activities focused on export/import and management issues supported by the Rotterdam Municipal Port Management. In this period of time some of the most important experience are:

HOLLAND: PORT OF ROTTERDAM and ROTTERDAM INTERNATIONAL TRADE CENTER ASSOCIATION. Responsible for Mexican business desk.
Main Duties: Business Consultant supported by the Rotterdam Municipal Port Management. Export/import Services for Latin American companies in Europe. Matchmaking activities. Achievements: In the environment sector and local administration: “Interchanges of experience between European and Mexican municipal governments”. I developed more than 20 training programs that could be run in this part of Europe, customized for Mexican municipal workers and politicians, most of them mayors, as well as German mayors’ trip to Mexico, a Korean commercial mission to Mexico and Mexican mayors’ trip to Quebec. MEXICO: EUROCENTRO COPARMEX: partnership agreement in AL-Invest Program (European Commission) with Canacintra and Coparmex (both Mexican chambers) in order to open a Business Office in Toluca, Mexico. It was an economic cooperation office financed by the European Commission. We offered an internationalization service to small and medium size companies in order to enable the completion of businesses with companies from other regions. Position: Director.
Main Duties: during the fixed-term contract (up to 2 years maximum), I was responsible as Director for carrying out the guidelines of AL-Invest coordinating the work of five persons.
Tasks: Organization of business meetings by sector between Europe and Latin America. Participation in specialized fairs and business meetings. Support to identify counterparts in Europe and Latin America. Advise on the formulation of cooperation projects. Business agendas with meetings. Suport during the internationalization process (logistics support and translations). Individualized follow-up of a company project until the completion of business. Market studies in Europe and Latin America. National and International technical assistance.
Achievements: Adviser for 20 Small Mexican Companies seeking business opportunities in Europe. Co-operate on organization of meetings: Al-Partenariat Valencia and Mexico City. Technical assistance during business meetings in ++SIAM’99 Toulouse, Import Shop’99 Berlin, Terratec’99 Leipzig, Automechanika’98 Frankfurt, etc.

HOLLAND: ARGENTINE EMBASSY in Den Hague. Economic Department.
Main Duties: Consultant.
Tasks: Market studies. Market report processing. Classification and update of reports about Dutch and Argentine markets. Support to Argentine companies in international fairs.

ITALY: technical sales of Chinese industrial sewing machines to Italy and Latin America. Position: Sales Agent
Main Duties: Forecasting sales and branding. Export and international trade development. Travelling throughout Italy. Day to day negotiations in Italian language.
